Professional Journey and Achievements
Career Overview:
From the late 60s up to the present, I have pursued a career as a professional commercial photographer, I have worked with several photographers in the UK, France and the USA as an assistant and as a colleague.
Inspiring Beginnings:
In 2000, I was asked to participate as the photographic industry representative on a validation panel for the BA in Photography at UWL. to see if the course was fit for purpose to give the student the skills they would need to work in the industry.
After the panel was over we had a drink and a chat, in conversation I was asked if I had ever thought of teaching, after thinking about it I decided it was an interesting preposition
Educational Milestones:
2002-2004: Successfully completed a BA in Digital Photography, achieving a First-Class Honours.
2005-2006: Attained a Master of Arts (MA) in Photography.
2007-2008: Accomplished a Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) in Teaching & Learning.
Teaching Roles (2005 - August 2014):
At Thames Valley University, Ealing, I held part-time roles as a Technician, Demonstrator, and Teacher. My responsibilities included guiding BA and MA students in the use of photographic equipment, lighting techniques, for both product shots and portraiture. As a Photoshop expert I was tasked with teaching retouching techniques and image manipulation.
Articles and Publications:
During 2002-2004, I wrote monthly articles for esteemed magazines including Digital Photography, Mac User, and Photoshop User. The focus of the articles was on photo retouching using Photoshop techniques.
